MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- Two men from the United Kingdom are visiting Macon for a few days to tell the story about Christians in Iraq who had to flee their homes years ago.

ISIS forced Iraqi Christians out of the country leaving behind their homes, businesses, and lives.

The Foundation for Relief and Reconciliation in the Middle East sent trustee Christopher Segar and the Chief Executive Officer Mike Simpson to Georgia to encourage people to help.

Iraqi Christians are ready to return home and start their lives over. However, they are finding that their homes are ransacked, businesses are burned down, and there are no jobs.

Segar and Simpson are speaking with local churches and asking for assistance in funding the restoration of demolished homes, bakeries, chicken farms, and other areas that need help.

There will be a prayer held on May 5th at the Martha Bowman United Methodist Church at 6 p.m.

Special guest speakers will tell stories about their experience of being a Christian and the rough situations they’ve gone through.
