On 29/2/2012 the journalist Jack Healy
and Mr. Omar Aljuish of The New York Times, visited the headquarters of the Chaldean
Syriac Assyrian Popular Council in the
city of Dohuk, and was received by Mr. Salim Youno Chairman of the Council, Mr.
Shams Al-Deen Gewargis, Vice Chairman of the Council, Mr. Ghazwan Rizk Allah and
Mr. Loay Noel; the Chairman of the Council and his deputy presented a summary on
the formation of the CSAPC, its affiliated offices in Iraq and abroad, and its
objectives in having the autonomy in the province of Kurdistan, after the
referendum under the article (35); also the development of the province in the Nineveh
Plain, for all the components that coexist in it, in addition to that they
elaborated the problems of the continuous attacks, the displacement, the killings
and the kidnappings, which our CSA people are suffering from in Baghdad, Mosul
and Basra, as well as in the Nineveh Plain and the Kurdistan Region, emphasizing
on the issue of the large numbers of the migration of our people, due to the
unemployment and the lack of jobs, beside the non stabilized security situation
in particular areas.
