We recall on these days the first centennial of the worst genocide that faced the
Christian people at the hands of the Ottoman Empire in 1915, where it raised
its sword to kill the Chaldean Syriac Assyrian people, Armenian and the Greek
and slay more than three million innocent unarmed men, children, women and
elderly people.
This anniversary came with the bitter political and security reality for our
people at home, where they were displaced of their historical regions in the
northern city of Mosul and Nineveh Plain in Iraq and Khabor in Syria at the
hands of the terrorist organization of Daesh, in a repeating to the tragedy of Sifo
genocide which we remember today.
What our people have suffered today is just a repetition of that criminal
ugly scenario, albeit with different methods, but they are not far from the
same religious and national heritage or the policy and way of thinking that
killed, displaced and seized the territories of our people in that tragic
happening; and today as we are inspired by the lessons of the past we bow
before the greatness of the sacrifices made by our people, throughout their
history of cultural achievements that have contributed to the advancement and
the civilization of the world.
While we thank and highly appreciate the positions of many countries in
recognizing the genocide, we call on the international community to the awakening
of a real conscience far from the interests and the political calculations, based
on the humanitarian values, to the recognition and the condemnation of this genocide,
and we call on Turkey the heir of the Ottoman Empire to recognize and to bear the
ethical and moral responsibility towards grandchildren of those who have been
subjected to genocide. In the same context, contemporary Turkey must accept its
past and live with it, and to apologize for the tragedies and the deep wounds it
caused to the conscience of humanity, for a tomorrow that accepts everyone and for
a better future for all.
Today, as we salute our people at home and across the world who are recalling
and denouncing this genocide and remembering the grandeur sacrifices made by
our people, we call on the international community to carry out its
responsibilities towards the suffering of our people today, as we affirm our continuing
struggle and sacrifice for the legitimate rights of our people at home, and we
will not give up despite of the difficulties and the sacrifices, confirming to
our people that we are fully prepared to participate with all the armed forces
which will carry out the liberalization process of our areas that are occupied
by Daesh gangs.
This tragic reality of our people today requires us to stick to our land,
to stay at home, to resist and to defense ourselves, and not to provide the
opportunity for any anti agendas aiming to displace our people and erasing
their existence from history.
We would like to express our deep nationalism and patriotism and our defending
for the rights of our people in the homeland, putting first the aim of
providing a safe zone for our people in the Nineveh Plain under the
international auspices, so that they can perform their political, cultural and
administrative rights, and we call on our partners at home to support and
assist our people and the rest of the national components and to participate in
decision-making.
In conclusion, the wounds of the past do not heal if not treated properly, and
that is to have a full international recognition of the genocide and for Turkey
to bear its historical responsibility in the humanitarian and moral part. We also
declare our solidarity with our Chaldean Syriac Assyrian and the Armenians in
Turkey, until they restore their land and get all their legitimate rights.
Glory and eternity to the martyrs of Sifo genocides
Glory and eternity to the martyrs of our people and the martyrs of freedom
Victory for the cause of our people.
