Halwa is one of Berwari Bala villages with population recorded (194)
according to the census of the year (1957) including about (40) families who
left the village after 1961. Some returned home after the issuance of
11-March-1970 resolution till 1976 when the inhabitants were forced to leave
and the village was exposed to destruction because of its location on the
border strip as the authority plan to empty the region. People of the village
did not return after destroying the village.
Today life return to Halwa village after the construction of (8) houses
by the Supreme committee of Christian affairs in Dhouk according to the
directives and support of Sarkis Aghajan.The village was provided with an
electrical generator.
