Nineveh Plains - A 3,500 meter (2 miles) race was organized by the Sharafiya Sports Club to celebrate the Akito and Easter festivals.
A total of 37 participants took part in the race that turned out to be a popular event among the locals who cheered the athletes at the finishing line.
Yako Gorgis took first place with a time of 10:12, followed by Sanharib Shamoun (10:34) and Andry Jabrail (11:03).
The race is a tradition among the locals and is held every year in early April in the plains of Sharafiya.
